System KAN-therm Inox is a comprehensive, modern steel installation system consisting of precision pipes and connectors made of a high quality stainless steel within a 12 – 168.3 mm range of diameters.
The system is dedicated to internal heating, cooling, tap water, hydrant and process water systems.
The system assembly bases on a fast and simple “Press” technology – i.e. clamping connectors on a pipe. Connections are leak-tight due to a special sealing (O-ring) of a high temperature resistant rubber and a 3-point clamping system type “M“, which guarantees many years of a failure-free operation
Pipes (thin-walled, seamed tubes) and pipe connectors are made of a chromium-nickel-molybdenum X5CrNiMo 17 12 2 No. 1.4401 according to DIN EN 10088, AISI 316; alloy steel chromium-nickel-molybdenum No. 1.4404, AISI 316L stainless steel and alloy chromium-molybdenum-titanium X2CrMoPi18-2 No. 1.4521 according to DIN EN 10088, AISI 444.
The molybdenum contents (at least 2.2%) ensure high resistance to corrosion. According to the EU Directive 98 the nickel contents in an alloy does not cause excessive contents of this metal in drink water (0.02 mg/l).
Dimensions, specific weights, water volumes of KAN-therm Inox pipes:
Tube couplings are provided with pressed-on tips with an O-ring seal or pressed-on tips with a female or male thread to PN-EN10226-1:
knees, elbows and tees, pipe connectors,
threaded connectors type GZ and GW and screw joints,
approaches to receivers and fittings/fixtures,
The standard version of KAN-therm Inox and Inox System fittings is provided with EPDM rubber O-rings satisfying the PN-EN 681-1 requirements. For special applications they are delivered with Viton O-rings.
The table gives working parameters and application range for these fittings:
All the fittings of KAN-therm Inox System within 15-108 mm dimensions contain LBP function (unsealed connections alert - LBP-Leak Before Press).
Within 15-54 mm dimensions the function is realized by a specially designed O-rings. With a special grooves LBP O-rings provide optimal control over connections during the pressure test. Unsealed connections are leaky and therefore easy to locate.
Within 76,1 - 108 mm dimensions the LBP function is realized by an appropriate shape of fitting (pipe connector ovalisation).
The life of Inox system O-rings was tested by the DVGW Institute and according to these test this life should not be shorter than 50 years.
